
AVID at Santa Ana High School
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college and career readiness program that builds the academic, organizational, and social skills students need to succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
At Santa Ana High School, AVID is a family of students focused on going to college and supporting one another along the way.

College Enrollment
- 93% of AVID students in the last 5 years have enrolled in college.
4-Year Acceptances
- 90% of AVID students have been accepted to a 4-year university.
Scholarships
- AVID has awarded $18,000 in scholarships to our students since 2021.
Our AVID graduates are currently attending: Harvard, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton and more.
What Do AVID Students Do?
AVID students participate in an elective class where they learn:
- Organization and time management skills
- Focused note-taking and study strategies
- Critical thinking and inquiry-based learning
- Tutorial support for difficult classes
- College and career exploration
Who Can Join AVID?
AVID is for motivated students who want to attend college and are ready to challenge themselves:
- Students with a 2.0 GPA or above
- Students who want to prepare for a 2-year or 4-year college
- Students willing to participate, stay organized, and work hard
