Attendance & On‑Time Success

Showing up and being on time are two of the biggest predictors of student success. Here’s everything you need to know.

Attach any doctor or parent notes directly to your email. The sooner we know, the better we can support your student.

3 total days absent: District sends an excessive absence letter.
3 consecutive days: Provide a doctor’s note upon return.
After 14 illness days: Additional illness absences are coded unexcused without a note.

Illness.
Medical appointment — please schedule for the appointment window only when possible.
Personal necessity due to a family emergency.
Bereavement for an immediate family member.

Have documentation? Attach it to your email when reporting the absence.

If your student is out 3 consecutive school days, please provide a doctor’s note upon return.
After 14 total illness days, additional illness absences will be coded unexcused without a doctor’s note.

How to submit: Email notes to sahs.attendance@sausdlearns.net (attachments welcome) or bring a hard copy to the Attendance Office.
